Family business

We run a family business.

The products of Poggio Nibbiale come from a family run business.

The cultivation of our own wines is far more to us than a mere task: It is a lifelong, generation spanning dream come true.

Together we share the passion to manufacture one-of-a-kind high quality wines. In doing so, we attach great value to sustainability and a respectful interaction with nature.

Regional authenticity

Regional authenticity is important to us.

It is most important to us, that the vineyard and the crafted products are closely connected to our retreat in the Maremma.

We aim to produce wines, which preserve a little piece of southern Toscana flair inside the bottle to offer the connoisseur a unique taste and enjoyment: regional authenticity. Therefore we chose the red kite (il nibbio) for our logo – the wild bird of prey circles over the vineyards of Poggio Nibbiale and decorates the label of our bottles.

Organic viticulture

We focus on organic viticulture.

Viticulture is an art, requiring more than the trained skills of the enologist. The natural environment of the vineyard plays a decisive role in generating the quality of our products. That is why Poggio Nibbiale exclusively focuses on organic winegrowing and refrains from using any kind of herbicides or artificial fertilizers.

Instead we rely on the local climate, the natural resistance of our cultivated grape varieties and the outstanding quality of the soil, one can find in the hills around the village of Scansano.

Product highlights

Chorus (2015)

From the best grapes of our prime vineyards an extraordinary wine is created.

Tommaso (2016)

The grapes for this unique wine, made from 100% Sangiovese, are exclusively grown on a special hill slope on Poggio Nibbiale. They are handpicked and post-selected prior to vinification.

Morellino di Scansano (2018)

The Morellino di Scansano DOCG is made from 85% Sangiovese grapes. For the assemblage we use Cabernet-Sauvignon, Montepulciano, Canaiolo and Petit Verdot.

Volpe (2018)

The Volpe perfectly matches the traditional Tuscan and Mediterranean cuisine.
